More than 25 years ago a small group of Cuban friends came together for a meeting and the result was the creation of Bandera Cubana, a non-profit organization which is now the premier organization for the Cuban community in the city of Boston and Massachusetts.

Every year, for the past twenty-two years, they joined together to raise the Cuban flag on “El Grito de Yara”, the day Cuban Patriots called for Independence from Spain. The Flag Raising Ceremony is held in City Hall Plaza of Boston, Massachusetts.  Dedicated to promoting human rights and freedom to the people of Cuba.
