Manuel Viamonte graduated from the University of Havana’s School of Medicine and did his residency in radiology at the University of Pennsylvania, at the Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia and at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington, D.C.

He moved to Miami in 1960. Dr. Viamonte is former chairman of the Department of Radiology and Director of the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at the UM School of Medicine/ Jackson Memorial Medical Center. He has published 250 scientific papers and 20 books.

He passed away in January, 2019.
