Nicholas X Duran was born in 1981 in Pompano, Florida. He was educated at the University of Florida, earning a B.S. and at New York Law School, where he earned a J.D. He is the executive director of the Florida Association of Free and Charitable Clinics.
Duran was elected to the Florida House of Representatives as a Democrat in 2016. Duran serves on the Commerce Committee, as well as on the Energy & Utilities, Health Care Appropriations, and Health Innovation Subcommittees, as well as on the Joint Committee on Public Counsel Oversight.
He is a member of Leadership Florida, a board member of the Children’s Trust, and has served as Chair of the University of South Florida Covering Kids and Families State Coalition.
He is married to Danielle Duran of Miami, and has two children.
